My Personalized Top 5 Sources of News & Information

Because I stay as busy as possible, I don't keep up with the news as much as I would like or should. I enjoy staying informed about issues I care about, such as women's rights and politics, but I don't use many apps to do so. I currently utilize YouTube and Instagram as my go-to sources for news and updates on current events. I follow several of credible news sources and influencers on Instagram who provide simple updates  in their posts and stories. I can quickly absorb crucial information through the day thanks to this. YouTube's news and politics channels provide extensive coverage and a variety of viewpoints. I can watch videos of discussions, interviews, and reports to get a deeper understanding of the topics that are important to me, like political developments and women's rights. These platforms fit well into my busy lifestyle, making it easier for me to stay updated without having to use a lot of apps. Below I have added three more apps that I have used in the past for News & Information that are worth checking out. Keep in mind that these platforms are what I used for my specific interests.

1. Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/)

Because it provides an array of different material from multiple perspectives, YouTube is a great resource for learning about politics and women's rights. Numerous channels offer thorough coverage and analysis on these subjects. Videos that look at historical backgrounds, current affairs, and upcoming obstacles pertaining to women's rights are regularly uploaded by activists, educators, and organizations. Also, YouTube's algorithm can recommend relevant content, assisting users in finding new ideas and voices.

2. Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/)

Instagram is a valuable platform for news due to its unique format and widespread use. Not only is Instagram visual and concise but offers diverse perspectives, quick updates, live stories, and is very easy to navigate. Once you follow accounts you are interested in, Instagram will suggest more content that relates to your interests, and put posts up on your explore feed tailored to you, similar to Youtube. These features make Instagram a powerful tool for keeping up with current events and engaging with news in a dynamic and interactive way.

3. TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/)

With TikTok, users do need to be more careful that they are getting legitimate information, however, once users find the right, trustworthy accounts, I believe TikTok can be a great source of news and information. Most posts on TikTok are very short and engaging, having a lot of information packed into a short amount of time. While it is sad, this is perfect for our generation, having a short attention span due to using our phones so much!

4. Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/)

I use Facebook all the time to find current news on my hometown, and around my area. There are thousands of different Facebook groups users can request to join for news and information. Personally, I look at my local radio stations Facebook page to find out events and other things that are going on around me. If the account is verified, they are most likely going to have the most accurate information.

Example:

5. CBS News (https://www.cbsnews.com/mobile/)

With decades of dependable reporting, CBS News has earned a solid reputation for credibility and dependability. With experienced reporters, CBS News offers thorough coverage of events happening both domestically and abroad. Programs like "60 Minutes," which are examples of its in-depth reportage, provide direct analysis on difficult subjects. With its accessibility across various platforms, CBS News assures that its audience can remain informed at all times.

Initially envisioned as a DVD rental service, Netflix sought to transform the way individuals accessed and viewed films. The founders saw that late fees and annoyance were a typical issue with traditional DVD rental companies. They came up with a subscription-based business plan that let users rent DVDs online and have them sent to them by mail. The frustration that Hastings felt upon discovering he would have to pay a late fee for returning a movie after the deadline inspired the creation of Netflix. The idea for a rental service without deadlines, late fines, or in-person store visits was inspired by this specific scenario. The objective was to offer a practical, affordable su

Privacy, Online & Off  I learned how crucial security is when using social media and phones after viewing the multiple TedTalk videos. Security and privacy concerns affect people individually as well as their friends and relatives. The saying, "no one is safe online," really comes true in relation to these worries. Online, many young children, teens, and adults, risk security issues, deal with identity theft, cyber bullying, and unauthorized access to their personal information.  The speaker in the fourth TedTalk video described a terrifying incident in which her ex-partner, who was abusing her online, purposefully tried to harm her reputation both online and off. Through the deliberate uploading of explicit images of her, he put her in a very uncomfortable and dangerous situation. She presumably still felt unstable and uneasy after this horrific experience.
